President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday ordered the stop to all movements for two weeks in Lagos and FCT Abuja to stop the spread of coronavirus.
All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes" starting from Monday 30th 2020. Buhari announced in a televised address to the nation. He said that all travels from these two states(lagos and Abuja) to any other state should stop or be postponed, All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period.
Buhari said the restrictions -- which also cover Ogun state neighbouring Lagos -- did not include hospitals, food shops and petrol stations, he further said that all his order must be monitored to be very effective by the force.
Authorities in lagos state are enforcing lockdown of every open organisations, restrictions of various movement within the city.
Although it is quiet difficult enforcing a total lockdown will be a great challenge for the authorities in a country where millions of people rely on their daily earnings to survive.
Although no matter what, we should all endeavour to stay safe, don't blame the government, they are only trying to help save our lives.
